Live Forgiven Church Updates
Dear Church Family and Friends,
As we are all aware, the situation in our nation with the COVID-19 virus seems to change rapidly. This has presented us with some tough decisions.
We are reminded of Romans 13:1 which tells us that everyone should submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Our nation’s leaders have asked us not to assemble in large groups. We do believe that the actions that they are taking at this time are for everyone’s safety and health.
After prayerful consideration the leaders of Live Forgiven Church believe that it is the right course of action and prudent to suspend face-to-face services at Live Forgiven Church for the next two weeks, March 20th-March 29th.
During this time, we believe that the Lord is going to give the body creative ways to build up and encourage each other, as well as creative ways to share the reason for the hope that is in us. We do not believe that this is a time for us to just slow down as a body but to run all the more after the Lord. (Philippians 3:13-14). Although our hearts are heavy because we will miss seeing each other, we look forward and pray for a time soon when we can all gather and fellowship together. When we are able to gather again, it will be a very precious time in the Lord.
Until then, we are working on other ways that we can connect with each other:
● This Sunday, you will be able to watch a video with Tim Metz sharing about Team India’s mission trip, which will include pictures and videos from their time in the country
● Also on Sunday, there will be 3 music videos posted so that you can join the LFC worship team in song
● A Kid’s Korner video will also be posted
● The Strengthening Families study will continue via livestream this week
Please keep checking our Facebook page, and our website for future updates as God gives us creative vision for this season. Or feel free to call us to find out more information.
We love you all. In Christ,
-George, Jeff, Heath, Bill, Tom and Ken
𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫:
As the other leaders and I consider that Live Forgiven Church will not be gathering over these next 2 weeks or possibly longer, we remember each one of you and pray for you by name. There is a Scripture that expresses the love that God had put in Paul’s heart for the Philippians, and it is the best way to express the agape love God has put in our hearts for you all:
“𝑰 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒎𝒚 𝑮𝒐𝒅 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝑰 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
𝑰𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒆𝒆𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕
and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.
𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓:
that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”
March 15 Worship Service
Isn’t this an unusual time that we are living in? This the first time that any of us can remember, in which our nation and nations around the world have suspended schools, large events, gatherings, and travel in response to a disease. I want to encourage you in the Lord and encourage you to remember that as God’s people, our first response is to be to God first.
How do we respond to God first?
First, we respond by seeking Him.
Second, we respond by believing Him.
Third, we repeat the first and second steps.
I know the coronavirus or COVID-19 is a concern for many. If you need to rest or feel that you want to stay home and keep your family at home, please do so. In fact, I encourage you to rest in how God is leading you. You can still be part of the service from your home. Please keep reading to find out how.
What is the plan for the service tomorrow?
After discussing this with the church leaders, here is what we have planned.
We will start at 11:00am. Tomorrow’s meeting will be a prayer meeting. We will commit the service to seeking the Lord in prayer. We will not have Sunday School or Kid’s Korner.
For tomorrow, we invite you to be a part of the prayer service in one of two ways:
1. Join us tomorrow at Live Forgiven Church as we seek the Lord in prayer together
2. Stay at home and join us in prayer from your home as we seek the Lord together
a. Pray with your family
b. Read Psalm 91 together (suggested reading, but follow the leading of the Holy Spirit)
c. Believe the Lord and His promises
d. Take communion together
Mine and Dana’s thoughts and prayers are with you. The Lord is with you. We pray that the Lord will bless you and fill you with His Holy Spirit!
